A summer night burns

An inferno filled with hate

The air is thick, and pungent….

On my tongue… a bitter taste.

Once busy streets were quiet

The frenzy all but gone,

The quarrels of the long hot day

have gently moved along.

Silhouette’s of lonely souls

Give life to the window panes,

Slowly moving to and fro

Into my visions plane.

Although these streets lay silent

The inevitable still remains..

Comes the breaking of a new day dawn

Another war will rage.
