I dreamed that I stepped outside myself
And looked deep within my soul
At the demons deep within,
My tortured shell unfold.
Insanity had ruled the day
For my mind was not my own,
Upon my knees I screamed to god,
”My life, I will atone!.”
As terror gripped my inner being,
One by one emerged,
Ripping at my tired flesh
With numbing bitter purge.
The taste of salt was on my tongue
As tears fell from my eyes,
For the man that knelt before me
I truly now despised.
As I awoke myself from slumber,
With the sounds of my own scream
Another day has now begun,
in hopes of no more dreams.
